Forest Bathing

Each Thursday, Caroline Dromoland Castle’s Resident Yoga Instructor will guide resident guests through a Forest Bathing & Mindful Movement experience in Dromoland Castle woodlands.

A unique experience, that will allow guests to immerse themselves in nature, with gentle movement. Forest Bathing also known as ““shinrin-yoku” is the practice of immersing oneself

in the forest allowing you to reconnect with nature in its simplest form and promote mental and physical well-being. Forest bathing lowers stress levels, improves mood, reduces blood pressure, and strengthens the immune system.

What to Expect

Caroline will guide you through a slow, mindful walk where you’ll be encouraged to engage with your surroundings using all your senses. Feel the texture of the leaves, listen to the birds, wildlife, the wind, and notice the sunlight filtering through the trees or even gentle dew or raindrops. We will help you release any distractions and be present in the moment, allowing you to feel a sense of calm and tranquillity and allowing your body to reset leaving you refreshed, renewed, and more connected to the world around you.

How to Prepare – Comfortable Clothing

Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes or Wellingtons, Rain Jacket if needed and or Hat and Gloves on colder, wet days. Trust us the Forest Bathing is just as beautiful on the wet days as it is on the dry days.

Slow pace

We will be moving slowly, so you don’t need to worry about strenuous activity. This is about relaxation, not exercise.

Phones on silent

We encourage you to leave your phones behind or at least turn them off. The goal is to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature.
