THE NEW YORK TENORS:

Andy Cooney christened by the New York Times as “Irish America’s Favourite Son”, has been taking the Irish-American music scene by storm for the last 20 years. Andy’s unique tenor voice has been heard in concert halls internationally, including hallmark venues ranging from Dublin’s National Concert Hall to sold-out performances in New York’s iconic Carnegie Hall. Cooney’s show credits also include “American Voices” placing him on stage with Grammy Award winners, legendary Larry Gatlin and the ever-popular Crystal Gayle in Performing Arts Centres and Concert Halls throughout the U.S. Standing at the heart of The New York Tenors, presents new and exciting ways to experience the artistry of this versatile performer.

Daniel Rodriguez first captured the attention of Americans everywhere during some of the darkest moments in our nation’s history. He was the New York City police officer whose amazing voice soothed our grief in the days following September 11th. Daniel’s career highlights include performing with Boston Pops Orchestra and debuting before a worldwide audience at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Other multimedia appearances include, ESPN broadcasts, The Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Late Show with David Letterman. Daniel Rodriguez is a champion for many charities and continues to inspire, stir and embrace his listeners through his stirring recordings and memorable concert performances.

Christopher Macchio is a gifted performer with a voice of exceptional power and beauty. A classically trained tenor from the Manhattan School of Music, this NY native has been wowing audiences by combing his golden-era sound with an engaging stage presence that resonates with people of all ages and backgrounds. Macchio’s growing reputation has brought him to sold-out theatres and events in the U.S. and Europe. His tenor voice has been featured in NYC’s Opera Nova Company. With television appearances on NBC, PBS, and ABC’s Red Carpet Stage at New York’s 5th Avenue Columbus Day Parade, this rising star is entertaining and capturing the imagination of audiences everywhere.

 

IRISH SOPRANO - DEIRDRE MASTERSON:

Deirdre Masterson is one of Ireland’s most celebrated sopranos, educators, and vocal rehabilitation coaches, with an extensive experience in performance to critical acclaim, having performed in venues from Dublin's National Concert Hall to New York's Carnegie Hall. She has enjoyed much success recently with the launch of her much anticipated album 'Mo Chroi', reaching number 1 in the Irish iTunes album charts, along with 3 number 1 hit singles ‘Dreamer’, ‘Jealous of the Angels’ and ‘Parla Piu Piano’, in the last year. Deirdre currently acts as Performing Arts Dean for Irish American University and director of The Irish College of Music Theatre, leading the introduction of Music Theatre into the Irish institution’s suite of educational offerings. Deirdre is also very passionate about her vocal rehabilitation work, collaborating with ENT Surgeon Mr. Mark Rafferty and Speech and Language therapist Dr Ciaran Kenny, promoting the well-being of vocal health care, and is fast becoming recognised as one of Europe’s leading vocal coaches working with international professional solo and group artists in all genres. GUEST FEATURING: 

Aoide (Pronounced as Ay-oh-dee, meaning 'to sing') was formed in September 2014, as part of the Mid-West Vocal Academy and Music School & is a mixed voice community choir based in the Castletroy area of Limerick. In Greek mythology, Aoide was the muse of song and we love to sing!

The choir has already performed many fundraising concerts, most recently raising money for Limerick Animal Welfare, Limerick Lions Club, CMRF Crumlin, Children’s Grief Centre & Limerick Suicide Watch.

The choir covers popular, upbeat music & is non-auditioning. Everyone from the beginner to the experienced is welcome to join, in a relaxed and fun learning environment, led by Musical Director Owen Gilhooly-Miles & Assistant Musical Director Triona Walsh.

Aoide was delighted to win the ‘First Time Competitors’ Competition at the 2017 Mayo International Choral Competition and second place in the 2018 Choirs from Ireland Competition.
